Standards and Technical Specifications

Open Wheel Class

CHASSIS:                  Stock copper T-Jet chassis and parts only.  Large tire class.  Press-on plastic wheels only.  Double flanged wheels are allowed.  Rear wheels must be Aurora hot rod/truck/dune buggy size.  Rear tires must be Aurora hot rod/truck/dune buggy size.  No low profile tires on rears.  Front wheels may be hot rod or stock T-Jet size.  Front tires can be stock size or low profile.  Plastic spacers may be used on front axle.  Black tires only.  Axle, wheel and tire combination cannot exceed 1¼ inches in width, front or rear measured at outside edges of tires. 

 

BODY:                        Hot rods, jalopies, dirt track cars, fairgrounds specials etc. and passenger cars.  No sports cars.  No Indy cars.  No covered tires.  No adding weight to bodies.  Bodies can be chopped, lowered and otherwise modified but must retain two screw post mounting.  No glass is required. 

 

TECHNICAL:            Cars must pass axle, wheel and tire combination width gauge test (1¼ inches), magnet test and not exceed 1.20 volts on 4 second DYNO test in order to race.  In all cases a car’s compliance is the decision of the Technical Inspector or if Technical Inspector is not present, the Race Director.
