Standards and Technical Specifications

Indy Car Class

                                                           Effective 5/8/06

 

 

 

 

CHASSIS:                  Stock copper T-Jet chassis and parts only.  Large tire class.  Press-on plastic wheels only.  Wheels to be Aurora “Hot Rod” wheels or same size if using another brand.  Double flanged wheels are allowed.  Axle, wheel and tire combination cannot exceed 1¼ inches in width, front or rear measured at outside edges of tires.  Plastic spacers can be used on front axle.  Rear tires must be Aurora hot rod/truck/dune buggy size.  Front tires must be sized for Aurora “Hot Rod” wheels.  No low profile tires, front or rear.  Black tires only.

 

BODY:                        Aurora Indy racer, Grand Prix racer.  TYCO S Indy/Grand Prix racers.  Marx or American Line Harvey, Willard Indy bodies.  Above mentioned bodies fit T-Jet chassis and are approved for club racing.  Other bodies may be allowed but must be approved by the Technical Director or Race Director.  Bodies may be lowered.

 

TECHNICAL:            Cars must pass axle, wheel and tire combination width gauge test (1¼ inches), magnet test and not exceed 1.20 volts on 4 second DYNO test in order to race.  In all cases a car’s compliance is the decision of the Technical Inspector or if Technical Inspector is not present, the Race Director.
